I raided the drinks cupboard for the most colourful drink to put in my shot glass - this is Galliano which I have only used to make Harvey Wallbanger cocktails (many moons ago). It's a bit strong to drink neat like this I should think but then again I might give it a try!! LOL!! I might be seeing my own bokeh if I down it from this shot glass!! As usual it looks good large against black.
Many thanks for all the lovely comments on my two fence shots. It's good when you go out with no idea in your mind what you will shoot and then you find something perfect!!
How exciting I have just seen this shot is "Trending"!! I love the new page!!
Woke up to find this on the PP!! How lovely - I am so thrilled and it's all thanks to you wonderful people!! Thank you for your great comments and Favs - I wouldn't be on here without you!!
wow, fantastic shot - that is one loadful of bokeh - gorgeous colours. And well done for getting on to the Trending page - it's such a fab assortment of shots.
So well thought out and executed, a really fantastic photo. You are right, large view is the best. A definite fav. How did you get that bokeh? So interesting.
@jyokota@sansjuan Hi Junko and Nita you both asked how I got the bokeh. I used a gift bag which is silver but with a pattern in it so when the light shines on it you can see lots of colours - best way I can describe it. I have a box covered in similar paper - I am sure you must have seen what I mean. I used the bag as the backdrop to the glass which is standing on black perspex which reflects. I put some plastic crystals and silver stars around the glass and then took a few shots. I hand held my flash and moved it round the setup and each time I got a different pattern of specular highlighs. This was the most colourful and also had the pattern reflected in the glass itself. As my aperture was wide open to get the glass in focus with shallow dof the specular highlights are round. If I had used any other aperture the highlights would have been hexagons. I love playing with setups like this and seeing what patterns the light will give you. I am always on the lookout for wrapping paper etc which reflects light in a colourful way to use as a backdrop. Hope this helps.
Congrats on PP, Pam. This is really a great image and I loved being able to read your response explaining how you created it. What a fun thing to be playing with!! I have only used wrapping paper once early in my project and loved it. You've reminded me to look for some to have on hand as winter approaches!
