I went out looking for architectural detail today and when I saw this curved roof I thought I had found just what I wanted. I have tried to crop leaving only the roof but it looks silly. So here we have the whole building. This is the visiters centre at Stanick Lakes which is a country park near where I live. B&W seemed to bring out more detail of the tiles.
My cold has got the better of me this evening and I have blurry eyes so I will leave my other shots for the morning.
I think it would make the architect very sad to think you don't see the curved roof as "architectural detail"! Looks like a special detail to me! Not something you see often!
Yes definitely architectural. I think it works well on the black-and-white and maybe is accentuated by the black-and-white. I also see of the curves like the walkway and the lawn and that little wall that is attached looks curved.
Oh, I would not call this a failure. It actually emphasises the curve of the roof to have the whole building, and the dramatic sky enhances the shot. Nice find Pam.
What an interesting building, especially that roofline. I don't see this as a failure at all Pam. It's well worth its spot in the project. Get well soon, colds are so miserable.
I like this building, in fact I love all odd looking structures and wonder how they do it? I went to college and majored in Mechanical Engineering, couldn't finish because to finish I had to go to a school a whole state over, so I took up Drafting. I love the design and what you have to do to make it stand and withstand!! This is great and really like it in B/W, I think it also brings out better textures!! Great job! FAV!
