I woke early this morning and crept out into the kitchen to make a cup of tea - always strange when you are in someone else's home. I glanced out of the window to be greeted by this beautiful sight. The Victorian gasometer was due to be pulled down a few years ago when they put in for planning permission to build the flats I am staying in this weekend. It was not to be as the gasometer was a wonderful example of Victorian Iron work and now has protected status. So fewer flats and houses were built but I think it was worth it!! I have taken many photos over the years but to see it with this glorious sky as a backdrop made my day!!
It's lovely to be back in Redhill catching up with lots of friends. We visited my friend Ann today and she had prepared a "Christmas Dinner" for us. There were crackers and party hats wonderful food and fabulous company!! I love where I live now in the East Midlands but I do miss all my friends!!
This is beautiful and how lovely that they saved it. Yes I looked out of the window this morning and saw the sky too. Took some pictures but I only have the rooftops as a foreground so I didn't post that one in the end.
Wonderful capture, beautiful sky? I Love that something old was spared instead of torn down for more housing.glad to hear that you are enjoying yourself with friends.
This is lovely Pam. We still have one in Leicester. You say you're living in the East Midlands. Where are you, which village or town? You might be quite close to me. Fav
