I think there's a great deal of merit in both versions Pam. I like them both almost equally, but to me they 'say' different things. The b&w is a very good piece of art which I can happily enjoy as such. However, if pushed (very hard) I must confess to liking the colour version a little better. To me, that version really shows off the richness of the teasel's textures and lines, while the small green spiky leaves surrounding the seed-head frame it beautifully without detracting from the interior. The glowing edges from back-lighting further concentrate my focus on the seed-head. The blurred background balances the composition, again without detracting from the main subject. Fav for me.
