17th September 2014 - What have we here?

This magpie landed on the top of the bird feeder and sat looking at all the food. Surprise surprise he chose the mealworms - see my other shot of him eating them.

Uploaded for my extras album
Great shot to see him so clearly and get all that bokeh!

I am assured by our local ornithologist that the only true magpies are Australian. I don't know what he calls all the rest of the worlds. This is fabulous

Super shot Pam, I haven't managed to get a shot of a Magpie yet despite the fact we have lots around here. They seem so sharp and aware that I only have to go close to the window and they seem to sense my presence and fly away. They make an horrendous racket but they are beautiful birds.

@paulaw I normally don't get the chance to get a shot of them as Finlay charges I to the garden to try to catch them! Some chance! He was in the dining room looking out the front window waiting for the postman and missed thus Nagpur. As soon as he heard me knock on the window to chase it off he dashed into the garden but too late! I don't like them as they raid the other birds nests but they are beautiful!

@paulaw missed the magpie! What is it with predictive text? Not even a recognizable word! Lol!

I agree, they seem very aggressive and greedy and can much their way through the fat balls at lightning speed!

Think I prefer Nagpur!!!
