Little boxes made of tacky tacky" For some reason this view across the water of the little houses perched on the hillside made me think of the song - does anyone remember it? Now I can't get it out of my head!! LOL!
Back to Newfoundland. This is Brigas South and we climbed to the top of the hill on Timber Cove Island to get a wonderful view out to sea. This is looking back towards where the people lived. These small settlements are known as outports and are all over Newfoundland - some were only accessible from the sea. The summer season lasts for only 5 months and it's a long cold winter - what a hard life!!
Glad you came up with the name! I'm still going through older photos, so haven't come to the names of the towns yet! I DO remember the song, but some of those houses look pretty good! And at least those folks have some neighbours!
