After all the drama of three babies fledged and ending up in Finlay's mouth I am so happy to be able to tell you that there is still at least one baby left in the nest!! What a relief!!
I watched for ages and I think it is only one adult doing the feeding now.
I wonder where the other one went? Probably off to feed another family - I have read about the male blue tits and they often have more than one family on the go at the same time!!
I am trying to give this baby a chance by keeping the boys on the lead in the garden until I am sure it has fledged and is safely up in the trees!!
How sad. It's a shame Finlay was able to get them. We had a cat many years ago who would search out the babies in the nest then the fledglings on the ground. After that experience for the rest of her life she stayed indoors all of may and june as I couldn't stand the carnage. Let's hope that the one left gets to fly off. This is a lovely photo.
