One week after we adopted our little whippet Ruby, she is seen here running free in Clumber Park / Sherwood Forest .
OK she may not be totally free as she has her lead on (the Dogs Trust rescue centre have advised us to keep her lead on in public places until we know how she reacts to people and other dogs ...she's not good with other dogs yet !!)
Anyway this is during our picnic stop. My daughter decided Ruby needed a run around ..despite us having walked for over an hour to reach our picnic spot !
This is shot on a long focal length with my DSLR. I like the movement and the fact that it shows how well Ruby has settled in with us.
I like the way your daughter is coordinating with Ruby who looks super happy running fast. Your daughter must be really fit to be able to go fast enough!
this is a fantastic shot Phil - when I read the title I thought "seriously - off the lead already????" those little runners are a nightmare until you get them under control!! we've lost several along the way with worrying hours of searching - it was why I started running!! this is a fab shot - makes me want to go and grab mum's little racer and take her out to the common!
@sparkle Thank you Juliette, Ruby runs around our garden free and without a lead, but living in quite an urban area of Nottingham it's is going to be difficult to let her run free without a lead, especially as, how can I say, some dog owners don't control their dogs the way they should. Our previous whippet was bitten twice on the local park !
This is a nice shot of your daughter and Ruby - looks like your daughter was right in that Ruby wanted some more exercise! I hope you're enjoying your whippet - it's going to take some getting used to this dog thing over at our house. I like my sleep. Just sayin'.
@phil_howcroft Aww! Sweet photo of Ruby and your lovely daughter, Phil! Well done! So, this is Sherwood Forest... Have you ever seen this movie? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UKOwaWUQCfI It really is my favorite version! So well done!
@marlboromaam the movie is the all time classic Robin Hood, Erroll Flynn made the role his own......not many men can wear Lincoln Green tights (hose ???) and get away with it !!
