Street Busker Piano Style

This is a picture from a couple of weeks ago. The short winter days and lack of daylight are proving a struggle for my photostream

This is in the Nottingham Lace Marker and it is a bit random as the location is a pretty quite one with little passing trade.

He has a collection bucket for coins just on the edge of the pavement. Oh and it was drizzling with rain .

Edited in GIMP, with a G'MIC black and white conversion using the pseudo grey slider. A National Geographic filter was then applied to the conversion.

I think the above conversion technique works quite well.
Didn't sound like a good day for busking, good street capture. Like the strong b/w emphasis on him and the piano.

I like how he is just playing the piano as if he were the only person left in the street.

@sabresun he was Matt, it was a random place to play, not 'footfall' , no shops nearby !

@jennywren jen it was a rather obscure place for the piano and the player, maybe he was just in the zone with his music (classical piece)

@phil_howcroft maybe he just wanted to play outside to get the feel of playing to an audience, but without disturbing anyone at the same time. 'The bashful performer' as it were.

Poor piano....the drizzle won't help its tones! Something I would just be so pleased to do, see one of these pianos in the street & go & sit there & play. Must be a great feeling , well so my grandson Jack says who has done it! Lovely photo!

Fav. Peaceful scene.

I think he's a 'trooper' playing in the drizzle.

Doesn't the rain damage the piano? I wonder. Great candid shot, Phil.

Nice shot of him....he doesn't seem to mind the rain...just loves playing his music. The b&w suits it so well. Glad to see he has wheels on the legs of the piano..much easier to be mobile with it.
