The view from my A&E cubicle ( normal service to be resumed soon )

I've had a cough since the weekend

It was ok, but today, my breathing deteriorated so I went to our doctors and she tested my breathing , blood pressure and temp .

She said she was admitting me to hospital and called an ambulance.

I went to an isolation ward , I tested negative for covid , but my bloods and chest x-ray showed I have a chest infection.

I've been on antibiotics and oxygen and now being admitted to a different ward while they monitor my breathing .

Not very good is it . I thought I'd be posting "Elle does Audrey " photos

I assume I'm in the best place .

Keeping you in my prayers, Phil. Take care of yourself.

I think it sounds like you are where you need to be. I hope that you feel better soon and they get all the right meds to kill the infection.

Both Phil & I have had a sort of cold & horrendous cough for several days ( he got it first!) all covid teats negative. We also had flu jabs a week ago, so it’s hard to know what is affecting what! So, I think there’s a lot of it about! You are in the right place , hope you start to feel better soon 😊

Hi everyone thanks for the lovely words of support . It is what makes the 365 the best photography community .
I've been diagnosed with pneumonia on the right lung . How I've got this I don't know . The first ward / bay I was admitted to today , at the City hospital was horrendous. I won't spare you the details . The staff were brilliant . Because I was still independent they have moved me to an overspill suite on the other side of the hospital . My own room, tea and coffee making facilities , own bathroom shower toilet , wide-screen flat TV . Like a hotel room .

I'm on oxygen and antibiotics injected into my arm .
Thanks again everyone .

Oh dear, get well wishes coming your way, hopefully you will get some sleep in your own ensuite room.
November 9th, 2022
Nice to hear it has not sapped your humour - , ensuite or not - get well soon and back home - :)

We're here with you Phil ;-) Sending warmest thoughts for a fast and complete recovery.
November 10th, 2022
You have to be pushy sometimes! 👏🏻🗣️
November 10th, 2022
It did cross my mind that it might be pneumonia, bless you. Take care & hope you start to feel better soon.
November 10th, 2022
Not nice at all but the antibiotics should zap it quickly, especially with that method of administration.
Behave yourself, do as you're told and no running round the wards with your camera trying to break the record for the most quickly completed 100 strangers project! ;-)
Seriously though, hope you're better and out of hospital very soon.
November 10th, 2022
Oh Phil! I hope you are much better and back home again very soon. All my love to you, dear friend.

How are you? Queens or City? Spent yesterday in queens GP referral unit having heart tests.
November 10th, 2022
@newbank newbank I was sent to A&E QMC in an ambulance and the transferred to city yesterday . Thanks for your concern , I hope the heart 💓 tests turn out ok

@casablanca casa , my first time ever in hospital as a patient at 65yo ! My oxygen levels have been reduced and I am being weaned off it !!!
November 10th, 2022
Was in for 12hrs, sent home 2am, tests clear of signs of clots, long covid complications most likely. Awaiting referrals to cardiology and long covid clinics. Hope you get home to Elsie soon and recover fully.
November 10th, 2022
@dulciknit lol no cameras other than my smart phone .
I've got some cracking photos to share once I'm out of here 😊😃
November 10th, 2022
@carole_sandford yes pneumonia, it has a hard hit for sure

November 10th, 2022
@corinnec merci Corrine, it is a long recovery to full fitness
November 10th, 2022
@newbank wow long covid , I am so sorry for your issues . Everyone forgets about long covid sufferers and the devastating effect it has on the patient and extended family
November 10th, 2022
@countrylassie thank you so much for your concern and comments🙂
November 10th, 2022
How are you Phil? Escaped or captive still?
November 13th, 2022
@newbank I am still here , my O2 levels need to be stable , no docs at weekend , maybe home tomorrow. I have a good room which I am pleased about. Thanks for your concern ☺️
November 13th, 2022
@phil_howcroft Glad you have a good room. I spent 5 days once in QMC in a windowless room! It was far from fun! Hope o2 levels stabilise soon and you get home. It's hard to fully rest in hospital when there is so much going on.
November 13th, 2022
@newbank thanks newbank, I think I will be in here a few more days yet, I'm on oxygen still. I don't know how you coped with no windows. Thnx again
November 14th, 2022
Just seen this pic, oh dear, you really have been through the mill. I did the same when I was in hospital last year, took a pic every day on my phone and caught up when I felt a bit better. Get well soon!
November 14th, 2022
Sorry to hear this, I hope you are on the road to recovery by now
November 15th, 2022
I missed this picture, Phil. The only one in many months. Glad that it is all over now.
November 17th, 2022
Oh gosh! Glad to hear you are on the mend. Hope you make a full recovery swiftly.
November 20th, 2022
Just discovered you were sick, Phil. I had been not very present for a while, so I’m glad that I discovered about your problem when it was over. They say there has been an increase in respiratory diseases after our isolation for Covid. Nice that you had such a nice room. Hospital wards can be disheartening. All my thoughts to you!
