FlashOfRed #5

Another for the 'texture & pattern' week of the flash of red challenge; the ferns are, surprisingly begining to grow back; love the shape of ferns, love the leaves, love them when they're brand new and rolled up.

Not certain that this suits B&W - said earlier in the month that it doesn't work with flowers, not sure it works with leaves either. Trying to 'see' in B&W isn't easy either, best I do some reading.

Thanks for your views and comments on yesterday's offering
Phil go to my latest photo and read comments from Ann and Shanne. Very helpful regarding shots like this. It's a blooming steep learning curve doing BnW!! My third year of FoR, learn new stuff every February.

@30pics4jackiesdiamond Hi Sis. Yes I read Anne’s comments on your pic for yesterday. I’ve got a book “mastering Black and White photography’ that I need to dust off and read again - it’s certainly not a case of just shooting as the golden hours of the morning/evening don’t apply.

I really struggle with any form of plant life in black and white. Tried a rose today, but I much prefer its original in colour! It's a definite skill but I don't have it yet.....

The fern looks really healthy. I have trouble with black and white too. I have my camera set on black and white and that helps but nothing looks pretty for me.

I was wondering if some water droplets would take the flatness out of the picture by giving it some reflection.

I think this is great because I think you've found very interesting patterns to capture.

I like this. I do think that b&w best suits architecture or portraits.
