Sourdough by phil_sandford

Sourdough

My first ever attempt at sourdough bread. I don’t own a banneton, so used a large mixing bowl for It to prove overnight, so it was possibly too shallow and too wide, hence the slight burning around the edges, but my word, even if I say so myself, it tasted so good.

Who needs yeast?

Stay safe
Well done. How awesome that you have successfully made your own yeast and your own sourdough bread. Enjoy!

Well done! If my husband sees this, he'll want to have a go. He's developed a recent obsession for sourdough!

The farm shop we go ( went) to sells sourdough this colour, and Paul Hollywood likes his singed. Looks a great loaf.

Do you have a bread basket?? Line that with a cloth to prove dough in that for a banneton

Absolutely love sourdough......want to try making some when I can get the flour. Haven't heard of a banneton though, will have to go and google!

Looks good Phil. The problem with making bread is that it smells and tastes so good that you eat too much of it :)
