Carole and I were very lucky to have lived in Berlin for four years from February 1986 where we experienced the highs and lows of family life. Whereas the 1st year was not a particularly good one personally, the next 3 were possibly the most rewarding professionally and one of the happiest tours that we had.
We celebrated Berlin’s 750th Birthday whilst we were there, a year long celebration of food, drink and everything Berlin and this celebratory Stein sits on a unit in our lounge.

One of the things we loved about our Rhine Cruise was sitting in the city squares enjoying that city’s popular beer. The Germans so know how to brew wonderful “ales”.
