Window and door

We visited the hilltop village of Gordes this morning which was a wonderful experience.
For a medieval village though they seem to be having an art exhibition on major buildings that purported to be optical illusions. Maybe I’m old fashioned but I thought they looked a bit out of place. But I liked this little vignette.

Ooh how wonderful, you are visiting our old playground! We used to go to a vineyard close to Avignon to buy wine and always stayed in Gordes! I sure hope you are liking it as much as we did. I don't really fancy the modern inclusion.

Totally agree - I have looked hard at this and find the inclusion of the modern piece of art is absolutely out of place and jars at my senses ! The windows and door on the discoloured wall would be quite artistic to capture !

I visited Gordes several years and was only remembering it last week with a friend who used to live in Toulouse. Like you I am not so keen on this old meets new.

I agree with you all but maybe that's because we are looking at it from the outside. If you live all the time within the old and historic, maybe just occasionally. you might want a touch of the modern??? Just thinking about the challenges as Bill @billdavidson commented.
