After the fire by pusspup

After the fire

Last week there was an extensive grass fire locally and at least one house and many hectares of property were burnt. This gives you a small idea of the aftermath.

One can only hope that it wasn't an arsonist. Loss of property and land is always devastating. On a positive note, our gums are so resilient. Thankfully.

I thought the same as Sam. @gigiflower Hope it wasn't caused by an arsonist. Bushland can regenerate so quickly, not so the homes though.

@gigiflower @onewing local news is reporting an incinerated bird on the wires - a local tells of a slasher spark. May not have been foul play this one :)

@pusspup Goodness me, I've never heard of an incinerated bird causing such issue! Glad to hear that it wasn't an arsonist.

great capture of this sad aftermath!

I never knew till fairly recently that it took intense heat for gum seed pods to open. Isn't nature amazing.

Oh dear. Very sad, but well captured.

A great shame, but great tones and textures

Very sad but makes a classy photo.

All necessary for the generation of new growth. Nice shot Wylie

I have also seen this very often during my trip in Australia. Bush fires obviously belong to the "normal" ecological process. When houses burn down, this is catastrophic.

Mother Nature can be strange in her methods. Very much a shame that a house was destroyed.

Glad that you captured this. How long will it take to start the new growth? I hope that you will be able to capture that as well.

Too bad for the loss of someone's property and this looks sad, but it good for the land in the end.
