One of the most surprising things I found in the forest after the fires was the carpet of dead leaves on the forest floor. Not so much burnt, just brown and dry.
Also you can see that much of this canopy is still green, hiding from above that the understory is completely burnt.
This is best as big as you can and on black, of course.
The green canopy is a really good sign -it musn't have been too hot in this area so hopefully you will get some regrowth pretty quickly - have you had some rain to kickstart recovery? :)
The fires must rage through so quickly, but still strange that all those dry leaves didn’t burn. Hope you get some serious rain so nature can begin the repair work.
