Day 4: Yellow - making 'Patatas a lo Pobre' by quietpurplehaze

Day 4: Yellow - making 'Patatas a lo Pobre'

We first had 'Poor Man's Potatoes' as tapas in a Spanish restaurant & then I found the recipe online - just onions, potatoes and peppers, fried and layered. I made it as a main dish last night and put in some chorizo.
Wonderful composition and light, cool shot!

Sounds delicious and I love your shot, capturing the essence of "yellow" and the dish. YUM.

Nicely done, Hazel. Reminiscent of a Victorian still life.

Super photo and the ingredients look like they make a delicious vegetarian dish. My wife is vegetarian, I'm a meataterian!

@gnilrets Well you could both have the potatoes, onions and peppers and then you could have a serving of chorizo on the side?! Our daughter is vegetarian but lives away. When she first went vegetarian she didn't like many veg which was just a tad difficult.................

Love the way the light shines through the olive oil to add to the yellow theme. Have you ever made Tartiflette? A sort of French equivalent with cheese added.
August 30th, 2012
@tishpics No I've not made tartiflette but I've heard of it. We don't have cheese in main dishes as Neil does not eat it - which most people find quite hard to understand. Adding the bottle of olive oil to the pic was a last minute idea

sounds yummy, and a great answer to the rainbow challenge, yellow week.

Thank you dear Hazel for you great and long comment and the fav . it`s much appreciated. For me it`s rather difficult to write that many. I don`t have the words and the typing is one finger done.
Great pic of the preparing but fried isn`t the healthiest way to prepare food so be moderate with it

@pyrrhula Pyrrhula (not your real name I think - my friend Anne looked in Wikipedia!) You are very welcome and everything I say is said with sincerity. It's obviously more difficult writing in a second language on this site. (If I ever make small comments on your English it's only to be helpful but I'm aware that it is sometimes not so easy to hear a 'tone of voice' in written words). I think you do fine anyway.

How about STIR-frying?!!

@quietpurplehaze It`s in a way my real name. My family name in Dutch = `` de Vink`` = `` the Finch`` . Our most beautiful finch is the Goldfinch = Pyrrhula pyrrhula . So I choose this for 365 . My comment name is`` Ferry `` you may use it also.
I`ve been working for an U.S.A. company the last 15 years and when I wrote to the States I`ve my letters corrected by a american colleague. I did it to my best and he often wrote a complete new letter. That`s not the way we say so he explain to me . And then I`ve often no words and doing mistakes with the typing . so I`ve a lot complains to myself
