...growing by the river on our walk at Droxford this morning.
Glad to hear it was on your walk !! I have one or two lusciously growing in my garden !! must get the root out before it gets out of hand !!

Doesn't this just say 'Beware!'?? I get stung regularly now they have all shot up in the hen run - they really HURT!! Super close-up Hazel.

Ooo, how horrible to get stung regularly. I hate it! You'll have to get protective clothing like beekeepers have!

Do you know you can eat them ( Urtica ) like spinach ? I`ve . Yust the young tops. Also for making a insecticide against greenflies ? Also been used for many medical purposes.
In England there is a competition of eaten them.

Ferry, I can't stand spinach plus it makes me ill (you don't want to know) so I think I'll just stick to photographing nettles.

Well yes I guess everything has its use in nature. Nettles are also quite architectural, I think.
