I've posted photos of this in the past. The sky was full of gray clouds when I went to get my camera. The gray ones seemed to pass me by in the short time I could get the camera and get outside. I've been working on this bed for 3 years now. There is still so much grass and other weeds in it. But a little at a time, right?
Baby steps is the best way to do yardwork especially in the summer heat! This looks like a very pretty area and once you have it completed to your satisfaction it will make a beautiful after photograph
I've added more perennials this year and confined the seeds to the large pots. There are still a number of zinnias and sunflowers that have grown from seeds that have dropped from last year's flowers and from the bird feeders. I can't really bring myself to dig those up. Maybe next year the plot around the penguin, which you can just barely see behind the feeder on the right. I'm thinking bulbs and/or lilies.
An old Chinese proverb : If you want to be happy for some ours: empthy a bottle, for some years, get in a mariage , for life time , start creating a garden. Great capture of yours.
@craftymeg I realize this, but I do hate getting so dirty every day I'm out there. @joemuli Thank you. I have done that. @wakelys I would love to have it filled with flowers. Thanks Sue. @pyrrhula Thank you. I like the proverb. There's much truth in it.
@olivetreeann I'll have to go back and weed some more. Thanks Ann. @thewatersphotos Thanks Gary. When I put seeds in the ground it's harder to keep weeded. My goal is to try to get the grass out (mostly) this summer. @shutterbug49 Thank you Debbie. I won't have all the zinnias in it as I have in years past, but it's a small sacrifice to try and get the grass out of it. @bkbinthecity Thank you Brian. @haskar Thank you Hannah. @kjarn Thank you Kathy. It's not huge. I'm not sure I could handle much more. @will_wooderson Thank you Will. I've started enjoying it more, but still have to talk to myself to get out there and work in it.
