Pokeweed bloom by randystreat
I am not familiar with Pokeweed but apparently it has been introduced to the uk so maybe I have seen it without realising. The lighting is enhanced when seen on a black background.

When I was in high school and weaving with wool and natural dyes, this plant and its berries was one of my favorite dye-stuffs. We had a huge bush at the edge of our backyard. Nice shot.

I'm slow in responding. Seems I am enjoying not being on the computer too much on the weekends but then catching up is hard. Thank you for commenting on this photo of the pokeweed flowers. It's a fairly common plant around here. Seems the birds love the berries and then one has purple poop on their windshields.

Ann I'll bet the fabric you dyed with the pokeberries was a lovely color.

@randystreat It produced some very pretty shades of mauve and sometimes a green depending on what I used to prep the wool to take the dye.
