“Mommy, are these butterflies mad at each other?”

They’re standing back to back!
Future butterflies! To photograph, as Carolyn points out below!
This pair chose a peony for their hour-or-longer “interlude”…

Confirmed at BAMONA as “Atalopedes campestris” or “Sachem”; http://www.butterfliesandmoths.org/sighting_details/724443

Update. This image is on the BAMONA species page for this species, http://www.butterfliesandmoths.org/species/Atalopedes-campestris

I wonder what's going through their little minds...

They must have had a domestic! Hehe. Great shot, brill focus.

Haha, they look like they're not talking xx

@psychographer They're communicating perhaps (or "sharing"), but it's not so much "talking"... ;)

@jesperani Thanks very much, Jennifer!

@ladyjane We *do* wonder, don't we!

@dinelson Thanks, "Grandma"! ;)

@chrismarfil Thanks very much, Chris!

What an awesome capture

@jaboney Well; where do we think baby ladybugs and butterflies come from, right?

@kerristephens Thanks, Kerri; I actually had a better series last week, but those were trumped for posting by something else that day.

A brilliant capture. I saw a great deal of " communicating " going on at the butterfly centre I went to.

@jtookey150 Thank you, Jean, and thanks for a good chuckle! I'll bet the butterfly centre was astonishing, amazing and you could have gone back for more!

Making more butterflies to photograph! I'm sorry I've gotten behind on your pics. I'm not sure if these are duskywings. Several of the skippers look alike closed. I usually need to glimpse them open to ID. :0)
