Macro ‘Myriophyllum’ by rhoing

Macro ‘Myriophyllum’

I had several possible posts today, but I like this “artsy” shot with the macro lens from the greenhouse. This is an “end-on” view of an aquatic plant that will be a future photo subject for a couple of reasons. (These plants sit in a shallow but large pan of water with lots of “Water Lettuce” [“Pistia stratioites”].)

If Wikipedia can be trusted on Latin, the genus name comes from “myrio” meaning “too many to count” (consider “myriad”), and “phyllum”, meaning “leaf”.
