Silver-spotted Skipper by rhoing

Silver-spotted Skipper

This is the most common butterfly I’ve seen this summer. Not terribly eye-catching, but one of my purposes with 365 and photography is to document what visits this region from season-to-season. So here’s one of the many residents-or-visitors to southern Illinois this year: the Silver-spotted skipper (“Epargyreus clarus”).

Confirmed at BAMONA as “Epargyreus clarus” or “Silver-spotted skipper”; http://www.butterfliesandmoths.org/sighting_details/1003588
