Canal Street, NOLA

We arrived in New Orleans by Amtrak sleeper car this afternoon and a bit after 5:30 p.m. we're heading to the French Quarter from the InterContinental New Orleans in search of dinner… Our departure time from Carbondale? 1:30ish a.m. Go ahead, check the timetable, http://www.amtrak.com/ccurl/380/658/City-of-New-Orleans-Schedule-011215.pdf

Dinner? Pat O'Brien's Courtyard on Bourbon Street, https://www.patobriens.com/patobriens/neworleans/
A bit kitschy, perhaps, but the Hurricanes, entrees (Etouffée and Shrimp Creole) and desserts (pecan pie and Strawberry Hurricane cheesecake) were all excellent! And of course Bourbon Street is its own entertainment, with no cover charge!

Great photo. We ate there back in the fall. Be sure to visit the cemeteries. And the WWII museum.
