A one-subject day…

Don't know what this is, but I’ve submitted it to BugGuide for an ID. Possibly Black Horse Fly (“Tabanus atratus”)? It found its way into the garage this afternoon while I was — what else? — working on the rowing shell!

Update (Sept. 2021)—
I had the genus correct, but not the species: http://bugguide.net/node/view/1136627

@espyetta A type of horse fly; genus Tabanus.
(I'm going through many of my bug posts to tag with their taxonomical "order" so I can find things more easily!!)
