Thinking of our dads…

Three years ago when my dad passed away, I brought home a box of tools & gadgets & things from the garage in his Michigan condo. I knew the box was in the garage, but today I stumbled across it and continued with my task of organizing my tools. These are my now-accumulated-from-various-sources slotted screwdrivers. Many I have bought over the years, but some are from my dad, some are from Clare's dad and at least one was from late-"Grandpa Gene," a neighbor from across the street in our previous neighborhood.

» Far left (yellow handle): a project of *mine* in junior high metal shop!
» Center: a wood-handled ratcheting screwdriver with a 3-position switch. Probably quite the thing when it was made!
» Center also: a "Russian doll" set of three screwdrivers that fit inside each other.
» Next to the "Russian doll": screwdriver with a retractable claw to hold the screw (Clare's dad).

Quite the collection! Interesting that you remember so much detail about each one and where they came from. My dad's tool continue to gather dust in mother's utility room. I've offered to take them away but there is always "some excuse".
