This is my only real “stunner.” Those who live farther south get Gulf Fritillaries and some tropical butterflies that I find “stunning.” But I don't live sufficiently south to encounter those species unless I travel. And even when I travel farther south, I won't take my long lens if I'm flying. So the Monarch is the only species I see with any regularity that I think rivals some of those tropical varieties in beauty.
Today was a packing day; tomorrow we are off to Boston to visit the kids and our granddaughter, who turns two next week. :)
