No more rolling out

Since making home-made tortillas three months ago [ mise en plas :: finished fajitas ] we invested in a tortilla press. Home-made tortillas are super easy (Barely an inconvenience) and taste so much better, so here is our new acquisition.

Can it cook grilled cheese? Or other flattened grilled sandwiches or doesn't it open up high enough?

@randystreat No; it’s not “powered” and it doesn’t have a flat bottom for putting on a flat-top stove. I guess one could *try* to heat it on a gas-stove burner, but it’s not designed for grilling sandwiches.

@jgpittenger You can find dough recipes online. After the dough rests (we were told to let it rest 30–45 minutes), form balls, flatten 'em, toss 'em in a skillet. The dough has fat or shortening in it, so you don't even need oil or butter in the pan. When we first did these in May, I burned the first one … and it was still delicious on its own! Our recipe came from https://www.eatkbc.com/
