This caddis fly larvae seemed to think our kitchen window would lead him to something good. That's his little head poking out from his rather untidy looking house. He was slowly working his way upwards.
@olivetreeann Spot on - that's exactly what he looked like!! I have no idea how they make these houses - or why they don't get eaten before they can make them. Fascinating little critters.
