Golden Orb spider

We get these on the Gold Coast - not at Stanthorpe. Their webs are spun from thick, golden strands and cover a very large space. People who visit us quickly develop the spider stick swish needed to walk along the forest tracks..

@golftragic This photo doesn't do him credit - I wanted the sunlight on his web but it meant you can't really see his colours. he has gorgeous orange, yellow and black patterns - just beautiful.
