Big blobs go in, small blobs come out!

Not quite sure what's going on here - but these tiny ants are dragging big pollen particles into their nest and then bringing out just a small section of it and dumping it into their "rubbish heap".

Hmmmm- it's being used for something I guess. Do ants have queens like bees do? Excellent macro shot!

@olivetreeann I'm pretty sure that ants do have a Queen - just like bees. And they are endlessly entertaining to watch. Thanks so much for your feedback re the macro - I have been trying to improve them! :)
