RK3_6130 Little mother

Some sad news today about the baby blue tits - one of them appears to be dead in the box but I can't do anything about it or I will frighten the parents who may abandon the nest. This is a shot of Mummy coming out of the box after feeding the other 7 little birds who are still OK.
Beautiful shot Rosie, so sad about the dead little one. What actually happens, do the parents manage to get it out?

@ludwigsdiana I’m not sure what will happen. I have put my email address on my profile so if you still want the granola recipe email me and I will send it to you

Great timing and capture Rosie, Blue tits do tend to loss one or two in each brood, your right to leave the dead birds, the parents will push them out of the nest box after a few days, they seem to leave them until they are sure they are dead:)

Great shot but I think I would feel the same about the dead little one.

that is sad, but there are still seven that can make it though - I hope they do. We have some in our box too - but no idea how many or what condition they are in.

They expect to lose the occasional chick which is why they have so many in a brood. Lovely capture

A lovely capture. The parents will find a way of dealing with the dead chick.
