my officemate devka gave me cookies for Christmas present. was i excited? but of course! i used to get a lot of cookies from the older ladies at the office but they have now retired. so it's been a few years since i got cookies.
for some reasons i cannot bake cookies. they always turn out looking like something un-cookie-like even the cat won't have it. well, if i had a cat. i remember two years ago, i got a great recipe for ginger snap cookies. bought all the ingredients, followed every direction, the batter tasted good. baked it, whoa! harder than my skull. but if i dipped it in tea it was alright. i tried to bake other cookies before but no dice. so why is it that i can bake a killer cheesecake or a to-die-for lady baltimore cake but not a cookie? total conundrum, i must say.
@sarasdadandmom - 4 pounds?!? that's not possible, these cookies didn't weigh more than 1 pound. you've been eating something else. 'fess up! :-D thank you, terry!
