that was the look i was going for in this shot. people were shaking their heads as i tried to take the shots and playing 'romantic' with the man on the bench.
Glenn Gould was a famous Canadian pianist and the Gathering was an event in 1999 when delegates from 19 countries came to celebrate the unveiling of this sculpture.
across the street is the 'metro convention centre'.

for five plus two's theme this week "in the street". i set up the camera and settings but the remote shutter died on me (damn cheap crap i buy!) so had to use the self-timer which proved to be quite tricky as i had quite a distance to dash from camera to the bench. shout out to my wingman @fanined who looked after my camera so no passersby would have the idea of running off with it and the tripod.
thank you for your kind visits and comments; know that they are truly appreciated.
really well done - such a tricky selfie challenge this week...
and for all you readers out there, please know that Canada is known for cultural accomplishments, and not just disgraced senators and mayors who can't recall if they smoked crack cocaine because they were in a drunken stupor (sorry Vikki, to be using your post as a soapbox... but i needed to get that off my chest ;p feel free to delete!)
@maggiemae - thank you, maggiemae. the link should work now.
@northy - thank you, kiddo. hahaha! what's one more rant. at least you're not hurting my eardrums. this one at home had been at it since i arrived from work. :-P
Now it all makes sense! I thought you had captured someone from the street and had made them adopt this position and you were trying to enchant him! Of course, you would have!
I'm a great Glenn Gould fan so it's lovely to see you snuggling up next to him! Wonderful idea for a shot and this is a super piece of night photography and B&W processing!
