on ice

we've had freezing rain since saturday morning and by noon yesterday, trees, especially north of downtown toronto, were all iced over. been wanting to stop and take photos but the boys were with us and we wanted to make the most of our time with them. coming back in the evening, it was chaos driving around and i didn't have a tripod so i abandoned the idea of taking any photos.

after breakfast, partner drove me to the beaches and we passed by the pond. it was treacherous walk, slipping and sliding, even with my heavy boots. my hips are sore from the trek, but i got some beauties including this large tree near the pond full of red berries and covered with ice. literally the whole tree! it's grey and dull but the red livened up the atmosphere. the bad news is the branches will eventually break from the heavy ice. the good news is i'm warm and cozy inside my apartment.

thank you for your kind views and comments; they are truly appreciated.
Beautiful...even more detail if you view it large. fav

Interesting how you have doubled up on the branches! Or is that ice? I think it might be - how amazing!
