now i can say i've seen hibiscus in all colours conceivable. or maybe not. but i was so excited to have seen this. it was right in the middle of a hodge podge of bushes at the allan gardens. the purple is so subtle nobody noticed it until the people nosed around what i was shooting.
in the old country we had a large bush of hibiscus (gumamela in our language) behind our house that separated us from the neighbours. it bore red, white, pink, maroon, yellow and brown flowers. well, the brown was when the flowers withered :-) the gardener said it took them years to perfect this colour.
thank you for your kind views and comments; know that they are truly appreciated.
Very nice. I am Kathy, your get pushed partner this week. I think this is the second time. I have looked over your very unique and interesting work. Your art is much different than mine. I am interested to see what you would submit to the challenge EOTB (Eye of the beholder) as your challenge. You can use the same photo for both or just enter into whichever challenge you would prefer referencing both in the comments. If you don't like this I will find something else. Kathy
the petals look almost metallic and the stem thing looks like an alien creature. Very cool. (must learn those flower parts so I can write intelligent comments on 365.)
