orb by summerfield

orb

an orb is a spherical body and this glass orb hangs by the window of stepson's home where partner and i spent the weekend as ivy and jack are home with him.

this was shot in colour. the weather outside was rather grey and gloomy and windy and cold. i think i'm staying inside for the next 6 months. :-)

thank you for your kind views and comments; know that they are genuinely appreciated. it's catch up time again and i shall catch up with your albums as soon as i can.

p.s. bokeh augmented in ribbet.
Cool looking little ornament. Check off another O!

I love how the bubbles in the glass are mimicked by the fabulous bokeh! i have to say I am impressed with your knowledge of "O" words and availability of subjects! too! Such a pretty image!

@olivetreeann - did already! thank you, ann.

@grammyn - thank you, katy. i'm pretty sure i can manage up to ten "o's" pretty easily. after that, i might self-implode yet again! hahaha!

A witches ball. Like your challenge but I'm glad you mentioned it was in color.

Oops "witches ball" is a dance. Sorry this is a witch Ball

@pandorasecho - oh! is it really? things that make you go hmmmm.....! thank you, dixie.

Yes. I think older than Christmas ornaments the shine was thought to lure evil to it and the filaments inside to trap evil spirits and protect the house. Similar to a dreamcatchers web.

I love the droplets on it

This has a little magic about it

I like the repetition of circles with the bokeh behind it :) Cool shot

Nice shot, I like the bokeh background.

I want that! I love the color and the droplets on it. Is it outdoors, catching moisture?
October 7th, 2014
Fabulous!
October 7th, 2014
@bill_fe - no, no moisture, it's how the glass was blown methinks. this was shot in colour but because it was grey outside and from my vantage point (this was a lot higher) and the background for this was the grey sky it came out looking black and white. i etsooi'd it in ribbet and got this colour after a few clicks here and there. thank you, bill.

p.s. i think you can buy this from any wiccan store. our ex-daughter-in-law (they have just separated) is into paganism.

@summerfield Thanks Vikki. If I were to search for a Wiccan orb, would I find it?
October 8th, 2014
@bill_fe - do you want me to find you one? there's quite a few wiccan shops near me. i think dixie above said it right, it's a witch ball. it is to ward off a witch's spell. but you can't use it on me. :-P

@bill_fe - it's available on amazon. here's a page from the canadian website.

http://www.amazon.ca/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1/178-5715617-0706042?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=witch%20ball&sprefix=witch+ba%2Caps

hmmm...perhaps we can use that for the urban legends theme. i have one in my head that combines it with five plus two though but i yet have to find my props.

@summerfield Thanks Vikki, I found one on the US Amazon site. I'll have to wait a bit to order it though.
