ran out of steam, as always. i have to return all the stuff that my friends at the office loaned to me last month. betty boop is going back soon so a photo shoot is naturally in the agenda.
i was never a fan of betty boop, her voice annoys me to no end. kinda like that song "loving you" by minnie ripperton. when you're old you're happy to be deaf so as not to hear the high pitch. i must say though that betty is quite photogenic and just keeps her pose and does not move a tad when the camera's pointing her way.
and i learned today that she plays the piano. you know the drill, i put the link here and if you are so inclined you will have a listen. but you don't have to. :-) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bboA3MjRV0s
thank you for your kind visits and comments; know that they are truly appreciated.
Great capture. Reminds me of something Livia would have taken all so long ago. Do you ever hear from her? If you do...please tell her I said hi. :)
As for lighting...I think you did perfect. It gives it that nightclub feel. If it was me...I would have tried to see if I could rig something to make the little lamp work, there by changing the angle of light. But this is great all by itself.
@losthorizon - dangit! i didn't even think of turning on the lamp, all because of that side lighting on the right. i think i should have 'soften' the light from that lamp.. must try again later. thank you for the feedback, beau.
i've left a few comments on livia's last post but she never contacted me back. when i do, i'll let you know.
@summerfield If you do the lamp, I'd cut the light from the right out all together. If the lamp doesn't hold enough light to light the scene by itself, I'd add some extra light from the left. Might work
So you have a "prop department" to draw from at the office?! How cool is that?! Mz Boop is just too awesome...love all tho folks who drop in to pose with the piano! And her video...a first for me! Don't know that I've ever seen her perform! Loving that!
@Weezilou - just the perfume bottles, kid. hahaha! wait tonight for another pink piano episode. i've turned my apartment into bedlam looking for the prop i know i have 'somewhere'. i used to be very organized. 'used to be' is the operative phrase there. :-) thank you.
@summerfield haha...I know that "obsession" when "what may not REALLY matter" becomes an itch you'll scratch until you find relief! And THAT's how things get turned upside down...been there!
@Weezilou - it matters! it matters! where the heck is that thing!!!! maybe i'll go and get some sushi lunch. i will look at the chaos differently when i'm fed. heck, maybe realize i don't really have it or gave it away long time ago. tee-hee!
@Weezilou - and so i found it and belatedly i found out i needn't have turned the bloody room upside down as it was staring at me right in the eye. it was on my wall in the hallway. toink! i had two handrolls in your honour, they had crunchy bit inside. :-)
Lighting: a low-level fill flash? Or the light from the other direction since the lamp is on the left? (not really pointers...just brainstorming!)
