keeping it simple, stripping away the unnecessary elements that distract from the subject. i thought the silhouette of the branches against the sky is a tad cliché so i opted for my owl pendant against a white background. its design is already a bit complexed so upped the highlights which effectively melded the other details into the darker shades. it still looked like the depiction of an owl although a tad comical.
almost forgot about this as i'm rushing to process some floral shots that have to be printed for the flower shop when i bring the framed prints on the weekend. i shall catch up with yours as much as i can perhaps during lunch tomorrow.

True- I think everyone does one of the silhouette tree shots at one time or another. I've been avoiding it too (although I did take one, I just didn't want to post it). Your owl is a nice change of pace!
