frondescence is the condition or period of unfolding of leaves. here's a fern leaf slowly opening up like fiddleheads.
taken at the allen gardens in toronto. where there was a proliferation of boisterous kids with their mothers who didn't care if the kids pulled out the plants or flowers. and a woman who brought in her big fat cat when the sign clearly says no pets. she insisted that someone let her in through the back door. so she was escorted out as she screamed and said she's visiting toronto and that was how tourists are treated. so i told the caretaker, better start charging people entrance fees or put permanent locks on the other doors. and the rest of the visitors was ready to lynch me as soon as i said the part about charging entrance fees.
allen gardens is probably the only garden around here that is free and can be enjoyed seven days a week. and then you get stupid people to ruin it for everyone.
okay, how did i get into venting. off to vacuum my floor. i need a clean floor for my shots.
hi summerfield! I've been assigned as your get-pushed challenge partner for the week. I've been looking through your beautiful photos, and noticed a lack of animals ~ live animals. I think I'll challenge you with that ~ they can be pets, or they can be out in the wild. But they have to be breathing ;)
I just hate it when folks have no consideration for the rules and for others people! Sadly children are often allowed to run riot, which gives the kids a bad name but it should be their adults that get hauled over the coals. There now, that added to your rant!
I love how tactile these leaves look. Gorgeous colour as well.
That woman reminds me of the people who park in the handicap spots- oh wait- they are handicapped- in the brain! A tourist with a cat? Who is she trying to kid?! Nice fronds.
@sarasdadandmom - quite generous of you, officer. thank you kindly.
@sitiodown - thank you, tari. i shall try. i have a deathly fear of dogs as i've been mauled by a german shepherd when i was about five or six, and i a allergic to cats. i hate squirrels and raccoons. that's why there is hardly any animal photos in my album. but i do have quite a few photos of "breathing" animals.
oh my! I don't want you to have to go into therapy just because of a photo challenge ;) If you prefer, I can change it to challenge you to do a silhouette of anything of your choosing. How's that?
I loved the rant and concur heartily with your assessments!
