fire escape by summerfield

fire escape

the gooderham building, known to folks around here as the flatiron building, on front street east in downtown toronto, is one the city's iconic symbols. behind it is that famous mural. this here is the fire escape of the building, with its shadows reflected by the afternoon sun against the building's brick walls.

for this week's 52 weeks challenge, the challenge is to zoom in on a landscape.

also for the black and white forthnight challenge, the theme being lights and shadows.

thank you for your kind visits and comments; know that they are much appreciated.
Great lines and shadows.

The name instantly rang a bell - Gooderham is where we are going in June! It is not a city!

Terrific lines and patterns and of course light and shadows. Excellent for that challenge. Thanks for including the links to the other two photos you took both which I thought were absolutely awesome.

Perfect in black and white. I love the shadows.

makes me so nostalgic .. partly the b&w, but mostly the city scene. No such objects in this neck of the woods.

Wonderful photo, Vikki, but considering scrambling down it...not so wonderful! Add shadows and I'd really lose it!
