but this is for the 52-week challenge. the challenge is full manual. well, whenever i shoot indoors, i do so in full manual mode because i need to experiment what lighting and shutter speed would best capture the set up. do you think i succeeded though? as i said in the beginning, i'm rather feeling lazy. i think that i'm running in fumes now as my phojo and creativity is fast spilling off my grip.
and you've got colour harmony too! i'm also scratching my head over this week's dogwood prompt because i often shoot full manual, including manual focus... even when i'm using aperture mode i am constantly adjusting the exposure value to get the look i'm after... so... i guess pretty much anything i shoot this week will count?
I like it well done. I shoot in A priority outside but manual inside, so I shot outside for this weeks challenge. I too am having a hard time with creativity and time management, working full time has me a little fatigued. Hang in there!
I like your match of objects - especially with the white dish to lighten up the scene. I am about as untechnical as they come, but still use full manual most of the time. So I decided, for my challenge, to document my thought process in picking the settings. Not sure if it will help me to learn or not, but I figured that it might show up some inadequacies that someone else might kindly point out. I am sure that neither you, nor @northy or any of the other more learned 365ers need that either. But, you might teach someone a thing or two if you felt generous enough to do so?
@helenhall hi Helen - i'm always happy to explain what i've done (assuming i remember) and why... i'll do that for the next shot i post... feel free to ask me about my settings if you're ever curious...
@helenhall - to be honest, i have very little knowledge of the camera technically. i like to think i have a little bit of creativity in me and that's what i rely on with this photography thing. i have a good eye for what's a great photo and a mediocre. but if someone explains to be the techniques employed in the camera to get such photo, either i'm falling asleep or i get blanked. that said, i share what little i know. for example, @30pics4jackiesdiamond has this obsession with attaining high key sooc because she believes post processing is cheating. having a fair success with white on white and high key shots, i shared the settings i used. that's the only way i could "teach" which i'd rather call sharing. if you want to find out about anything you can always ask me and if know the answer i will share it with you, you know that, don't you? :-D
@helenhall anyone on 365 can be adopted as your mentor!!! And Vikki,( my first adopted mentor!) since doing my ou course im quite so agin processing as when i started my project!!! This is beautiful photo
@northy@summerfield@30pics4jackiesdiamond Thank you each for your feedback on my suggestion. I appreciate your offers. I hope my comment was not out of place. I in no way intended to suggest that you should be posting all the technical stuff on a continual basis! I already learn a great deal from picking up snippets of information from members like yourselves (quite apart from just enjoying your posts). And as an overdose of technical information turns me off completely, this is probably the best way for me.
@helenhall no worries at all... I used to post the details for my own memory mostly... of late I’ve been pretty lazy tho... anyway.. I never mind answering questions so you shld always feel free to ask...
@helenhall Helen, Vikki, northy and a few others I follow have all been asked by me how they achieved a specific photo and have given advice and feedback on how to improve it! Ask and you will get bucket loads of support. You can click on the exif on a photo to get the technical apperture and shutter speed etc, but the set up angles etc other photographers are so happy to help. One person even photographed and uploaded her set up for me to copy!!! @northy you are also an adopted mentor!!
yes, i suppose anything you shoot meets that challenge. not just meet but ace it!
