my friend virginia and i went to see the vivian maier exhibit currenty happening at the art gallery hamilton. the collection was rather extensive and it was awesome. her ability to capture people's raw emotions is simply incredible. but one that i really liked was a self-portrait as she was reflected on a mirror being moved either to or from a truck, and she was smiling.
as i said the exhibit was rather extensive and at the end of the exhibit they were showing the films she caught of local events, etc. there were a couple of books that were available for purchase: one catalogs some of the photos on exhibit and the other a book of her self-portraits. guess which one i bought.

i'm a bad girl, neglecting you. but i've been up and about coming home late, almost midnight which is ridiculous. that's the bad news. the good news is i'm still off tomorrow so i will have time to browse and comment. my apologies, folks.
looks like an attractive exhibition space - and I shall look up the photographer. So you got the self portraits book? Nothing wrong with being up and about and coming home late - except if it is all work. Hope you are pacing yourself!
.. oh some of those images are priceless, some hilarious, some uncomfortable. What a fantastic and daring collection she has. Some great ideas for self portraits too - now I wonder if I can work that into the 52-week challenge?
@summerfield Oh, Yes. I love that photo. Such a subtle selfie. If you were not looking, you would not even notice she was using a "film" camera, no less. How fantastic that she could achieve that wonderful picture.
Thanks for including the link to her photo. I remember there was an artist challenge with her work as a subject not too long ago. Of course you bought the book of selfies! I will be expecting greater selfies in the future form you. I am not sure how you are going to improve on what you already offer though!
thank you, ladies. here's the link to that image i was talking about http://www.vivianmaier.com/gallery/self-portraits/#slide-13
