here's my grandson onyx. he was being playful and decided the chopsticks would be his props.
after lunch, we went to the eaton centre as his father wanted to try out the new chocolatier that just opened. it's called "läderach" where you buy different kinds of chocolates by the weight. onyx followed me to the back where they also sold truffles and pre-packaged specialties. that shop was rather expensive. the weighted chocolates were at $10.99 per 100 grams; the truffles were priced starting at $7.50 each.
after i bought some white chocolate for the son and an m&m one for onyx, i asked my sister and the son if that's all they wanted. onyx looked at me and his dad, then said, "actually i wanted something from the back." so i went inside the shop again and he followed. he had his eye on a chocolate moose, yes, chocolate moulded into the shape of a moose, complete with eyes and antlers. there was a big size which was about 6 inches, and a mini-moose, about 2 inches. the big one cost $27.99 and the small ones were at $9.99. i thought that's great, i could get 2 of the small ones for him and i wouldn't pay as much plus the taxes. but what do you know, i actually asked he boy, "did you want the big one or two small ones?" and i haven't put the dot on the question mark and he'd said "the big one". that was $32 and change off my debit card. when i was paying he said, "oh, dear, you won't have any more money." i replied that we shouldn't buy the moose then, to which he very quickly retorted "oh, but i wanted the moose so let's just spend your money." the cashier laughed out loud.
