that's today's prompt. there are 6 doors in my apartment, 7 if you include the main door to get outside. so i have all those choices but i like to play around with my kitchen doors. taken like this there's a sense of the sinister or ghostly. especially that i hear movements behind me all the time. i have placed my long dining table by the windows as i like to have a lot of natural light. believe you me, there are paper ripping sounds, or sometimes things falling off the counter when they are all secured.
in my first apartment in toronto, i had a visitor who told me that there's a ghost or a spirit in my apartment. we were talking and suddenly there was a movement and in my peripheral vision i thought there was another person who walked past us but there was no one else in the apartment at the time but the two of us. i didn't make any comment but my visitor did. "Do you know," she said, "that someone unseen is living here with you?" very casually, i said, "oh, heathcliff? yes, he's harmless." she held her tea cup midway, her mouth agape and her eyes wide. "You named your ghost?" why not, i said.
when the grands were still little boys and would stay with me on weekends, they noticed it, too. one night, little darren was about four and wanted to go to the washroom. he just stood there seemingly waiting, and he asked 'what's taking him so long?' i asked who? and he said 'that ghost he went inside the washroom.' so i indulged him by yelling, 'heathcliff, get the hell out of there!' little darren said, 'on second thought, i wait for grandpa.' it was a good thing he didn't have to wait long to hold his pee as grandpa (now ex-partner) arrived about five minutes later.
I look so forward to your narratives. You took a writing class last year, did you enjoy it? I think you should consider writing a novel, knowing you, it would be a terrific read! Well this is a great composition, eerie and perfect too.
I like @louannwarren Suggestion that you write a book. I’ll buy the first copy! She has a point you are very descriptive in your writing but I’ve already known that for a long time. You are also very descriptive in your photos and this one is just one example. Very scary with fabulous lighting to enhance the mood.
@kaylynn2150 - long exposure, in this case 1.6 sec then you walk in front of the camera while the lens is still open. do-able with the iphone although i've not tried it as i rarely use my iphone for photography. thank you for stopping by.
I have 7 doors in my hallway 😬
Well done!
