statue of a saint

this is at the church of St. Andrew Kim of Korea, and that's the statue of the saint. he was the "first Korean-born Catholic priest and is the patron saint of Korea, being canonized and made a saint on 6 May 1984." (from wikipedia)

i was waiting for the bus and this was right across the road from the bus stop. i was going to cross to get nearer and get a closer shot but the bus was due in two minutes and i didn't want to miss it. now that the weather is a bit decent, i should be able to go around for some photography but the problem now is that COVID-19 cases are on the rise again and we are advised to stay home as much as possible.

turned out i had a bad case of allergy and that was just by going out on my balcony when it was too windy. again in the evening there was a fireworks display across the road and i haven't been out so i went out on the balcony again until i started to sneeze like crazy. this morning i woke up fine but whilst waiting for the bus, with the cool breeze and my sweater probably not thick enough, i thought my throat felt scratchy. but when i got home and rested, i was alright. this COVID thing is really making me paranoid.
Very nice statue

You're not alone in your paranoia Vikki. The more we learn about this wretched virus the more scared of it I become.

I can only echo the above, it will still be with us for a while unfortunately.

It's easy to think the worst when we catch even the mildest of symptoms. Hang in there!!

I think we all feel the same. Covid had changed our lives in so many ways. Keep safe and away from people who don't take precautions. Fresh air away from people is what I do, though once the weather turns it will be far more difficult.
I love your photo, the stark lines against the soft curved of the statue are great.
Keep your chin up, we will get through this

glad you got out and about today. Some cheerful flowers brighten this scene. Would you ever have looked up all that interesting information if you hadnt decided to make it the day's photo? One of the things I like about this project - the prompt to stay inquisitive. Hope you can get out and about a bit before any further restrictions hit.

An interesting photo with all those lines! Interesting information to. Thanks for doing the research!

I feel like you every time I get a little tickle in my throat but I have about decided I can’t live the rest of my life worrying about what might happen. If I did I might worry about the water not being pure enough to drink, I might worry about my car not being safe enough to drive, I might worry about somebody else running into me, I might worry If my groceries we’re prepared and sanitized facilities. There is so much we could worry about but if we did our life would be spent doing nothing but worrying. Carry on girlfriend, carry on!

Nice statue and story to go with it. I, too, like the vertical lines in the fence and the building.

I guess I wonder if you got similar symptoms before the virus. If so, take a deep breath, and pay attention to note if some of the stranger or more serious symptoms associated with this virus show up. But remember if you think about it too much, they probably will. Drink some hot tea, lots of water to keep the nose running and get busy doing things you want to do.
