we were in minus temps since last night. this morning i saw the sidewalks were white and the streets blanketed with snow and i knew i wouldn't be able, and wouldn't want to walk. it was -15 with a windchill of -22 and there was a slight wind. i decided i won't be stupid or idiotic today. the whole day it was snowing a fine powder and i wondered how it could snow in that ridiculous temperature.
the good news is that the temperature right now is -5 and it will go up overnight to at least 0 in the morning. i looked out tonight and the streets were deserted, except for that lone person. there's something ominous about this night scene, especially with that yellow glow from the street lamp.
and even though the temps will be higher tomorrow, i will wait for another day to do my walking. i might be convinced though to go to the grocery store as i don't have any more green salad.
i will wait to tag this for the 52 captures theme this week of 'street photography'. because you never know what i might find in the streets tomorrow.
UPDATE: i have decided that this would be my entry for week 2 of the 52 captures challenge. this is more compelling street shot with that lone traveler in this rather woeful setting despite those bright lights.
What an awesome composition with the street bending and the lights! Do I still see decorated Christmas trees? Or is it the frost and light... Anyway, they are beautiful!
