taken from the top of the gardiner expressway on kipling avenue, about 12.5 kilometres directly west of downtown toronto. my canon already recognizes the CN tower, i aim it and the "green square" is automatically focused on the part of the horizon where the tower is. amazing! my weekend 'wingman' dropped me off at the foot of the kipling bridge so i could traverse the highway below to take this shot and waited for me on the other side.
saw a man on the opposite side of the road taking photos of the sun, which was still high in the sky at around 6:30-ish. i checked out what was on the other side of the road and saw nothing of note, just industrial buildings. on the drive on the toll highway, a plane passed overhead but camera was "sleeping" and didn't get a shot.
wonderful weather we had today, even though later on in the afternoon there was a significant accumulation of clouds in some parts of the city, but not enough to spoil my fun of shooting the tower.
i went picnik-ing and auto-fixed the photo and added the usual framing.
oohh lines everywhere, fabulous. I like the pale sky and the splash of bright blue colour in the road signs. Nice framing too (tho' can I be cheeky and just say I think it's a tiny bit thick? Sorry, just my humble opinion, I feel bad saying it.) The photo is quite delicate....
What a neat angle! You actually made it look comparable to some of the other buildings, in size. Very cool. I kind of agree with Dani on the border. Maybe a shade slimmer so it doesn't take away from the shot.Great hustle for the shot. Keep this up and it will turn into photo-workouts! ;0)
@pamfromcalgary@roth@altadc - thank you, ladies. @danig@slang - DG,please, don't feel bad. it's not like i'm going to shoot you, australia is quite far. hehehehe! in fact, thank you. been waiting for anyone to say something. however, i've been looking at this month's photo and i noticed that some of them have rather thick outside borders. i wanted all to be the same as the june 1st photograph, but alas! the old brain keeps forgetting where i had set the thingamajiggs the first time. actually, today i had set the outside border lower. and then you guys noticed! hahaha. thank you, my friends.
sean, soon as i got home, i had a mango mousse (from that boulangerie at the corner which finally opened today (see photo 142 on may 22), so the workout just got overridden. hehe!
I can so picture some musical notes on the wires!! A very interesting mixture of lines!!! The horizontal lines seem so sharp in contrast, being right up front - -that they set off all the vertical lines (the buildings, the light posts and yes, our friend THE Tower!) in a fresh way! Very cool!!
