these are parts of conversations i've overheard at various times today.
my morning was crazy. and that tired me out. i must really be getting old. hahaha! two years more and i can start collecting pension. and yes, no more banking charges! but it's still seven years before i can get the seniors discount at the stores. although there's a restaurant i know where if you're 55 you can order off the senior menu. sweet!
@pamfromcalgary - i was close to not posting today because i have nothing and was not even motivated enough to look through old picures. my grandson left his tiny dice in a little plastic container under the table and i found it this evening so i thought, there's photo of the day.
I think I'm either going to post a picture of me crying tomorrow or picture of me jumping for joy. My son is going to visit his dad for week. Not sure how I am going to feel about that yet. Hah.
@meggageg - post the jumping for joy pic. i should see that tom hanks/julia roberts movie to entertain me. it's all these bad news i hear. maybe i should stop reading the papers.
well, so much for having nothing Ms Summer! This is great.
And even though I'm a couple of years off senior discounts, can I come and share a meal anyway? Sushi for seniors! Sounds like a good title for a story....(how's the writing muse? mine's all in my head and I just can't get it out! lol)
@danig - thank you, DG. come and let's have sushi. and i expect to see the story 'sushi for seniors' in sunday best anytime now. haha! and like you, all the writing's in my head, too. and if anything makes it on paper (or screen), they're only making it offline. i need to really sit down and do the blue pencil on them so i can post them.
@steeler - when i was a little girl, i used to always ask my mother if i was adopted and i'd get a good beating. these days, i still ask that question to myself (and sometimes, i'd swear i was adopted) especially when a sibling does something really stupid.
mind you, the little boy who asked his mom that question on the subway got his ear twisted pretty bad by mom's newly polished fake nails!
loving the idea of this shoot! The "whispers" made me smile...It is a great idea for a shot....as we go through the course of a day we gather snippets of conversation here and there and for the most part it drifts in one ear and out the other..but every so often it stays with us and these are the things that make us go hmmmmmm. Have a great morning =)
@roth - thanks, sue. what you said there is so true.
in the morning, as i passed by the door of the apartment next to mine, i overheard the tenant saying she "dunno, i fell asleep..." i forgot what came next. in the subway, three young girls were talking wildly and their favourite words were "so" and "whatever" and when they speak a longer sentence, there's the word 'like' in between words. at lunch time, when i went for a short walk, a man was on his cellphone and i just heard him ask "are you sure it's for us?". and on the way home, it was a young boy who was being teased by his sister that he's adopted that prompted him to ask his mother. the strange thing was the mother wasn't stopping the girl to stop, but she pinched the boy's ear instead. people are strange, i tell you.
this photo is so creative and i so enjoy the conversations you have with people. one of the most wonderful 'side effects' to 365. so interesting. wonderful read, wonderful photo. thank you for sharing.
I've just read all these comments and it's got me thinking about snippets of conversations, chinese whispers and the like...great topics for photos on here I think. i used to ask my mum if i was adopted, just to annoy her I think! I stood and listened to a murder of crows in full chatter tonight and it was hilarious!! I reckon they were talking about whether they should poop on my head or not.... lol
@summerfield well, I would love to use this idea sometime, I really like it..and the story that goes with it is interesting too..did I see a movie like this once? hmmmm
this is so clever -- gave me a good giggle (who's getting old -- I conked out last night at 9:00 --!!!! Isn't that pathetic! My day didn't feel complete without seeing your photo, but the body won....!) Love how the comments came to be a part of your day's story -- !! yes, people are strange......too much chlorine in the gene pool methinks!
@catsmeowb - creative? why, thank you. really, it was hastily put together and after i took a photo i didn't know what to do. thank you, camille. @danig - ooooh! bird poop on the head, don't get me started with that one. hehehe. i love the game chinese whispers. that's one fun game. @jobesekama - thanks, beth. and yes, don't let them get used to saying it. @roth - sure, use the idea, by all means. you planning on a challenge? yay! @cscecil - hahahaha! too much chlorine! that is so funny. thank you, CS.
i like it as well - put a lil grin on my face (which is hard to do on a Monday)....i'm glad you posted this day even though you felt like you had nothing.....i've been wanting to do something similar - with things heard in the elevator...but by the time i get back to my desk at work i have already forgotten what was said - lmao
@sticksandstones - well, kiddo, i'm so glad i made you smile. listening to people's conversation is quite enjoyable sometimes, but mostly i tune them out. thanks, jenny.
@summerfield hmmmmm, Thanks Vikki! Might be sailing in Greece in May! I'd probably be accompanied by Him ( who has a name, Dave!) as he now tells me Canada is somewhere he's always wanted to visit! I want to visit my friend heather, love to meet you and soak up a different culture for 5 days as 2 will be spent flying.
