my writing muse has arrived and whipping my ass to write but the wannabe photographer creativity is fighting to remain. (let's pretend this is my bathroom break!) i thought i'd kill two birds with one stone (ooops, that is not politically correct to say that around here anymore) and whipped up this concoction of new and old for the opposites theme and sooc challenge.
another glorious day in toronto, clear blue skies with just a scintilla of cool wind. attempted a trip to the beaches to take photos but didn't quite make it there as i passed by one of the jazz fests happening around the city and i sat there for a few minutes and took in les tres cool musique. at one point i thought my picture of the day would be the CN tower as when i turned around the thing was sticking out against the setting sun all by itself. but no, i fought the urge to take a pic, i needed to wean meself from the CN tower, please.
bathroom breaks are important. No job is complete without the paperwork -- ;) I like the old with the new -- then and now, now and then......and why can't the writing muse and photography muse be friends?? And the CN tower is still stalking you......! I knew it would happen! The jazz fest sounds cool -- !
@cscecil - yes, darn tower is stalking me now. everyday, i find a good vantage point that i never found last month to view the CN tower. hahahaha! thanks for your encouragement, CS. it means a lot to me.
ha, mine has arrived too! Must be in sync Ms Summer... which is why I have started another album on here (oh oh, more time!). So many words, so little time!
great shot btw!
@pamfromcalgary - thank you, pam. @altadc - i've always wanted a polaroid, too. i liked the idea of those "spitting" images that camera produces. how else to capture one's geekiness in high school? i have one such photo! doyou think they still sell the films for this one in manila? thank you, alta.
@summerfield that's what my sister said discouraging me about polaroids that we cannot get the films here (especially in Bukidnon) and that it would be too expensive compared to ordering prints via digicam pix. But i found this site that sells films in Manila, hope this helps: http://polaroidph.com/
@altadc - sweet! now i can use this camera. maybe i'll bring it with me in november when i visit manila. and if i get to meet gilbert or chat, i'll be taking their picture with it, see them drop on the floor! you be there to take an actual photo! don't tell them, it will be a surprise. :-)
bukidnon? you have internet in bukidnon? i can't even get a wi-fi when i was in baclaran three years ago! bukidnon rocks!
@altadc - i will try. i was there in the 80's when a friend was touring the philippines. wrote some very romantic and geeky poems whilst there. we stayed at someone's house whose name now escapes me.
i know i want to see my long lost aunt in palawan and she's quite excited to know i'm still alive (actually i was the long-lost niece); then there are three reunions, high school and college; and i'm interviewing for sure a few people for the novel i am writing plus research at the national library. wow, just realized i'll be doing all those in 3 weeks. not enough time; but i hope i have enough free time for a pedicure!
@jannkc - b/b's are very important :-) thank you, jann. @eddyj - eddy, that's all i can handle; hard for me to figure out the large fancy cameras you guys use. why, i can't even find the macro button for this one! thanks, eddy.
@rynce - it's not my coolpix, rynce. i bought it for my nephew. i use an olympus and a canon powershot for my photos. but i've used the coolpix a few times, it is best for shooting food because it captures the real colour of food. thank you, rynce.
